Drawing using table salt by artist Dino Tomic, he is a Norwegian artist who works on the production of huge works of art using table salt. This works more clearly when reversing colors using photographic techniques such as negatives. The artist explains that through these works he is working to expand the horizons of his artistic experience through the use of new and innovative materials and tools, which in turn adds new knowledge to the artist each time. “Experimentation and testing will contribute to building the artist’s style and artistic skills, regardless of mastering all or one of the experiments,” he said. “The artist will be able to add more information and techniques to his experience whenever he can do more complicated work.”
As for painting with salt, the artist says that this experience is also one of his transitional stages as an artist since such projects tantamount to entering an unknown region that is new not only for his own sake but also for the world. He adds that drawing salt is not a new art but development on this technique is interesting, as in the world there are only a few who are painted with salt only and the workload is often smaller than its huge work. Finally, the artist explains that for him, overcoming the obstacles and pushing the work into new dimensions, in addition to employing his knowledge and previous experiences, is the most important thing. The work of such projects is to test his abilities as an artist in addition to reviving his senses.
